By enabling the "Use QR codes for ticket scanning" setting, you can quickly and easily check in customers upon arrival by scanning unique QR codes that customers receive in their booking confirmations.

Enable QR Codes

To start using QR codes for ticket scanning, simply go to Settings > Bookings and switch on "Use QR codes for ticket scanning."

Don’t forget to click "Save."

Settings for QR-codes

You can select whether a QR code is sent per booking or per product. For example, if someone books 3 kayaks, they will receive 3 QR codes, as they have booked 3 products. The default setting is one QR code per booking.

Remember! Existing bookings created before QR scanning was activated do not have a QR code in their booking confirmations and therefore cannot be checked in this way.

After activating QR scanning, you can send a new booking confirmation to these bookings, which will then include a unique QR code.

How to Use QR Scanning

From Manifest

Step 1: Log in to BookSpot on a mobile device or tablet.

Step 2: In the manifest, click on the QR icon in the top right corner.

Step 3: Under "Settings," you can select the start date, start time, or specify if only specific products should be available for check-in.

When the customer arrives with their QR code, which can be found in their booking confirmation, both directly in the email and as an attached file, simply scan the code and click "Redeem Ticket." The booking will then be marked as "started" in the system.

From the Availability tab

In the left menu under Availability, you can click on a specific start time for a product and check in customers from there. The QR scanning settings are preset to apply only to the selected start time and product.

Checking in one QR-code per product

If you've set up to check in one QR code per product, you’ll have the option to either check in all products in the booking at once, or select which specific items you want to check in.

If you choose to check in the codes separately, the booking will not be marked as "started" until all QR codes in the booking are redeemed.

Good to Know: Bookings from GetYourGuide

You can scan the QR code that GetYourGuide bookings receive in their confirmation from them.
