Not all businesses are required to use a cash register.
The requirement depends, among other things, on the volume of cash or card sales, as well as the type of business. For example, businesses with low turnover or those that are tax-exempt may be exempt from the requirement.

To find out whether this applies to you and if you need a cash register, read more about the requirements on the Swedish Tax Agency’s website here.

Add a Cash Register

If you are required to use a cash register, follow these steps:

  • Name the cash register

  • Enter the address details

  • Accept the terms and conditions

  • Click Add.

Register a Cash Register with the Swedish Tax Agency

As a company, you are responsible for registering your cash register with the Swedish Tax Agency. You can read more about how to do this on the Swedish Tax Agency’s website here.

Daily Closing for Cash Registers

For businesses that are required to use a cash register and perform daily closing:

As an administrator, you close the register under Reports > Z-reports.

If this is not done manually, it will be closed automatically at midnight.

You can find more information about cash registers on the Swedish Tax Agency’s website here.
