Learn how your customers can choose a language and how you as an admin can change the language in a booking.

Activate Language for Customers

In BookSpot, you can choose which languages your customers can use during the booking experience. The active languages control both the booking and the messages sent to the customer.

You can activate the languages you want to offer in the booking experience under Settings > Languages.

When a new language is activated, a translation field will appear on all areas of the system where free text can be entered, such as product information, booking durations, price categories, terms and messages.

Choose language on the booking button

Your customers can easily change the language of the booking experience by clicking on the flag at the top right of the widget.

In the Widget Settings, you can activate "Automatic Language recognition," which makes the widget automatically adjust the language based on the website’s language.

Note that the HTML tag "lang" must be present on your website for this to work.

If this widget setting is deactivated, a drop-down list will appear, allowing you to manually set the default language for the booking button.

Change language in a booking

If you create a booking as an admin or want to change the language of a booking (for example, to send the booking confirmation in English to the customer), go to the booking’s page, and under Payment, click "Receipt Language" and choose language.

Change language for BookSpot users

If you want to change the language of the booking system for your profile, you can do so. When you change the language in the booking system, it only changes the language for your profile, not for the BookSpot facility your account is connected to.
