How to create an admin-product

Learn how to create an "admin-product"

It may sometimes be benefitial to have products that are only available for admins. For example, if you wnat to book during days that are closed or outside of the opening hours. Let us create a product named "One-man kayak - admin" that is only available for those that are admins. The product uses the same capacity as the product "One-man Kayak".

Step 1. Create a new product.

Create a new product. Read more abuot how you create a main product or add-on product. Or duplicate an already existing product to turn into an admin-product.

OBS! Scheduled availability and scheduled prices linked to the product is not duplicated.

In this example, the admin product has the start time type Automatically generated start times during opening hours with the intervalls of 30 minutes that makes it available to book evey half hour.

Step 2. Activate for Admin only

Go to the Status tab and select ENable for administrators.

Step 3. Alias

Since the single kayak - admin uses the capacity of the single kayak produkt, we need to link their availabilites to each other. Therefore, set the admin product as the alias product and the single kayak as the linked product. You can find all Alias settings within the product's setting under Availability. If you have never worked with Alias before, you can read more here.

Note! To ensure the linked products opening hours doesn't restrict the admin product, activate Ignore opening hours & start times for the linked product.

Step 4. Set availability

Create maximum flexibility! Since an admin product is never available to regular customers, you can set 24/7 opning hours for the product. Here's how:

  1. Under seasonal opening hours, add a new season.

  2. Specify the desired period during which the admin product's opneing hours will apply and choose the times the product should be available for booking. If you want 24/7 opening hours, set 00:00-23:55.

  3. Since the schedule should only apply to the admin product, uncheck "applies all products" and select only your admin product from the product list. Save!πŸ”’

  4. Place you newly created schedule at the top of the priority list.

Only you as an admin will now be able to see and book the product in the product list.
