Learn how to use start time types for products

The start time type for a product allows you to set up your product availability in the way that best suits your facility and the product. There are three different types described below.

Note! The choice of start time type, regardless of which, does not generate booking durations. These must be set up separately for the product. Read more about how booking durations work here.

Automatically generated start times during opening hours

This option allows the system to generat start times based on the opening hours, either for the facility in general och specifically for the product. The available start times are calculated based on the interval between start times.

You can set the interval between start times yourself.

Example 1

Your facility is open between 10-14. If you choose 'Automatically generetade start times during opening hours' for a product with the interval of 60 minutes and booking durations of 1 hour or 2 hours, there will be 4 bookable times during the 1-hour booking duration (10, 11, 12, 13) and three bookable times for the 2-hour booking duration (10, 11, 12).

Read more about how to work with the capacity settings for your start times here.

Example 2

Your facility is open between 10-14 with an interval between start times of 60 minutes.

There are three different booking durations: 1 hour, 2 hours and 4 hours. If a customer chooses 1 hour, they can select from 4 start times (10, 11, 12, 13). If they choose 2 hours, they can select from 3 start times (10, 11, 12). If they choose 4 hours, they can only select 1 time, at 10.

Manually entered start times during opening hours

For products with different start times during opening hours but where you need more control over which start times are available, this option is suitable. This setting is often used for guided tours, courses, other events, and accommodations.

Example 1

Your facility is open between 10-14. Your product has booking durations of 1 hour and 3 hours, and you set the start times to 11:00 and 13:00.

This means that if a customer wants to use the product for 3 hours, they can only choose the start time 11:00, while the 1 hour duration can be booked both 11:00 and 13:00.

Set start times under Availability > Capacity & Schedule.

  1. Click on "New schedule".

  2. Select the start and end dates for when these start times will apply.

  3. Set the maximum capacity. Read more about setting capacity here.

  4. Click on "New start time".

  5. Create one or more start times. Choose wether these start times should apply to all or some of the product's booking durations.

  6. You can also create more advanced settings regarding whether the product should be available on all days/months or with advanced interval.

Manually specified start times regardless of opening hours

If you want full control over the product's start times without them being affected by the facility's opening hours, this option should be chosen.

Example 1

The facility is open between 10-14 and your product has the booking durations of 2 hours and 4 hours with start times at 11:00 and 13:00. At these start times, both durations can be selected since the product does not check against the opening hours.

Set the start times just as described above under Manually entered start times during opening hours.

Note! The booking duration "Days to closing" cannot be used for 'Manually entered start times regardless of opening hours' since this start time type does not consider opening hours.

With start time types, you have full flexibility in determining when your products can be booked! πŸ™Œ
