Learn the difference between maximum capacity and start time capacity

Maximum capacity is the largest number of a certain product that can be booked simultaneously.

Start time capacity is the larget number of a certain product that can be booked at the same start time.

Why are both maximum capacity and start time capacity needed?

Maximum capacity and start time capacity are factors that will limit the final availability, that is, how many of a certain product are available at a give start time.

Exempel

The high altitude course Get up can accommodate 50 customers in the park at the same tie. Customers can start their booking every hour and have access to the park for 3 hours. To avoid overloading stagg, Get up has set a limit of a maximum of 20 customers starting at each start time.

The final availability for the start time will be determined by the number of available products remaining during the period of the booking applies to in combination with how many spots are left at the same time.

In the table below we can see that even though there are 10 spots left at the 12:00 start time, the fianl availability is 0 because the total of number of booked spots is 50 at the same time.

We see that the number of bookable products for a given start time will be limited by whichever is lower: the number of available spots in the park, or the number of available spots at the start time.

If product availability is checked only against maximum capacity

For the start time type "Automatically generated start times during opening hours", availability is checked against the maximum capacity since the start time capacities are the same as the product's maximum capacity.

If the product availability is checked only against start time capacity

For start time types where you manually specify start times, you need to set a start tie capacity for each time. You can then choose whether the product's availability should be limited by a maximum capacity or not.

If the product is not limited by a maximum capacity, availability will depend only on the start time capacity.

Now you are a pro at understanding the difference between maximum capacity and start time capacity! πŸ™Œ
