How to create a relation between price categories

Sometimes it may be necessary to create relations between different price categories, also called dependent price categories. This means that you can adjust the quantity of participants in relation to other pricing categories.

An example where this is useful is if you offer an activity where an adult is required to accompany every 2 children.

Create a relation between price categories:

  1. Go to Products > Price Categories and click on "Create New".

  2. Fill in the desired name for the price category.

  3. Click on "Advanced settings".

  4. Check "Se a maximum limit depending on other price category".

  5. Fill in the maximum number of the price category that can be booked, in relation to price category #2, in this case a maximum of 2 children per adult.

Example:

If you want to set it so that a maximum of 2 children can be booked per 1 adult in the same booking, the price category "Children" should have the maximum limit set to 2 per adult. This is because the price category "Children" is set as dependent on the adult price category.

Maximum limit depending on price categories:

In addition, you can also set a maximum limit on dependent price categories. You can use this if, for example, you want a maximum of 2 'Children 10-15 years' or a maximum if 3 'Children up to 10 years' per booked 'Adult', but never more than 3 children in total.

To do this, check "Set a maximum limit on dependent price categories" under the price category 'Adult' and fill 3 as the maximum limit. In this case, 'Children' is the dependent price category (see example).

With relations between price categories, you get more control over your bookings!πŸ™Œ
