Learn how to create a discount code
A discount code is a type of value code that provides a percentage-based reduction on the price. Read more about value codes here: How to Create Value Codes and Discounts.
This article demonstrates an example of how a discount code might look, such as a student discount.
Here’s How to Do It:
We will create a student discount that offers 20% off kayaking during the summer months on weekdays.
Go to Products > Value & Discount codes > Coupons
Click on "Create new promo code".
Enter your code, for example:
Choose the type percentage discount and set the percentage value to 20%.
You can choose to restrict which product the discount will apply to. Deactivate valid on all products and select only the products the discount should apply on. In this example, we ristrict so that the code only works on the product One-man kayak and Two-man kayak.
Disable weekends to ensure the discount is only valid for bookings between Monday and Friday. The Expiry date determines how long the code will be valid. Since the code should be usable indefinitely, you can set a distant future date.
The Periods setting defines when the bookings with the code can occur. For this example, the discount should only apply to summer bookings, so set the periods to the summer months up until 2024. If the discount should continue beyond 2024, you will need to add additional periods.
