Learn How to Create Value Code Types
A value code type is something you can sell to the customer, such as a gift card or a stamp card.
Note! Vouchers and discount codes are not the same as value code types. A value code type is something you can sell to the customer and is displayed as a product in the booking view. When a customer purchases a value code type, a voucher code is created that can be used for booking. Vouchers and discount codes can be created manually by you, for example, if you have a campaign or similar. You can read more about vouchers and discount codes here.
How to Create a Value Code Type
All settings for vouchers and discounts can be found under Products > Value & Discount Codes. In the settings tab, click on "Create New Value Code Type" to add a new value code type or go to an existing value code type and click "Duplicate" at the end.
Edit Your Value Code Type
There are many different ways you can customize your code. Here are what the various settings do:
Name: Enter what your value code type should be called; for example, 'Gift Card', '10-Card', etc.
Description: Describe the value code with a few sentences, including the applicable rules and how it can be used.
Booking Confirmation: Here, you can specify specific information about the value card type that will be included in the booking confirmation.
Image: Add a product image for your value code type.
Value Type: Specify how the value of the code should be calculated.
Choosing Stamp Card deducts 100% of the booking price.
Choosing Fixed value/Gift Card deducts a fixed value from the booking price.
Maximum Usable Value Per Use: The code will never be able to give more discount per use than this amount. Note that only the price reduction is limited by this value. The total booking value can still be higher than this amount when the code is used.
Price: Specify the price the customer will pay for the value card type. If Fixed Value/Gift Card is chosen, the value of the code will be the same as the price.
VAT: Select the VAT rate for the value card type.
Active for Sale: Activate to make the value code type available for sale.
Usage Limit: How many times a code can be used in total.
Usage Limit Per Day: How many times a code can be used on the same day.
Period of validity: How many days the code should be valid after purchase.
Valid on All Products: Which products a code should be valid for. If activated, the code can be used on all products in the system. If deactivated, you can specify which products the code should be valid for in the field that appears below.
Free Rebooking Guarantee: Activate to deduct from the price for rebooking guarantee in the booking.
Can Be Combined with Other Codes: Activate if the code can be combined with other vouhcers or discount codes within the same booking.
Minimum Booking Value: The code can only be applied if the booking value is greater than this amount.
Largetst Booking Value: The code can only be applied if the booking value is less than this amount.
Categories: In the widget settings, when categories are selected, this value code will be selectable if the value code matches any of the categories chosen in this setting. Read more about widget settings here.
Valid Mon-Sun: Choose which days a code should be active for use.
Activate Sale of Value Codes
If this is the first value code type you are creating, you need to first activate the sale of value codes.
How to Do It
Under Value & Discount Codes, go to the settings tab.
Click on edit and activate the Sale of Value Codes, see below.
Note: For the value code type to be sellable, Active for Sale needs to be activated for the value code type to appear in the booking view.
Sold Value Code Types
You get an easy overview of your value codes under "Sold Value Codes." Here, you can edit your value code types and change the order in which they are displayed in the booking view.
Value Code Types and Your Widget
In the Widget Settings [Settings > Widget], you can choose which product types should be displayed in your widget. Here, you can choose whether it should contain both products & vouchers, only products, or only vouchers.
