Learn how to make a product rebookable and what the rebooking guarantee means for your facility.

The rebooking guarantee is a great feature for many reasons. It facilitates the management of bookings as you no longer have to manually rebook customers who contact you, while also providing the customer with a better booking experience by allowing them to easily rebook their time when it suits them.

Additionally, it increases revenue, and we have seen that the rebooking guarantee alone accounts for 2-3% of our customers' sales on average.

Make a product rebookable

Go to the products settings > Rebooking.

  1. Activate the rebooking guarantee with the "Rebookable" switch.

  2. Set a price for rebooking protection. This price applies to each booked product.

  3. Set a time margin for the rebooking guarantee. The time margin indicates how close to the booking's start time the customer can change the booking.

Don't forget to save!

How the rebooking guarantee works

When a customer adds the rebooking guarantee to their booking, they receive a link in the booking confirmation where they can change the time and date of their booking. If the product is not rebookable, the booking cannot be changed via the link. This also applies if the customer did not choose to add any rebooking guarantee.

You can see if the customer has selected the rebooking guarantee by opening the booking. You will then see whether it is activated or not, as well as the price of the rebooking guarantee, which is added to the booking.

If a customer wants a rebooking guarantee afterwards, you as an admin can add it manually. Learn how to do it here.

When customers cannot rebook

Here are the most common reasons why customers cannot rebook despite having chosen the rebooking guarantee.

  1. The rebooking time margin has expired. You can see and change this under product settings > Rebooking, but will then apply to the entire product and not the individual booking.

  2. The product is not activated as "Rebookable". If you as admin have added the rebooking guarantee to the booking, you can check if the product is activated as rebookable via Product > products & Experiences and the rebooking tab.

  3. The booking is not paid. Rebooking is only possible if he booking is fully paid. Alternatively, if the product has a pre-payment option, it can be partially paid, but the percentage for the pre-payment ust be paid for rebooking to be possible.

How does the rebooking guarantee look for my customers?

When a customer purchases the rebooking guarantee, they receive a "Change time" link to their booking confirmation under the booked date. Through this link, they will see a booking calendar where they can choose to move their booking to an available start time.

The owner of the BookSpot facility will then receive a notification when the booking has been rebooked by a customer.

Offering the option to rebook is an easy way to add more value to your customers! πŸ™Œ
